This irreplaceable vineyard was planted in 1847 by Ann Jacobs, just eleven years after the foundation of South Australia putting them amongst the oldest in the world. Situated between Jacob’s Creek and the North Para River the vineyard gets its name from the Indigenous word ‘Moorooroo’ meaning ‘meeting of two waters’.

Planted in 1916 these Centenarian bush vines grow high on the Eastern hills overlooking Rowland Flat. The low-yielding, hardy vines grow untrelissed and are constantly exposed to the elements. The premium grapes are hand-picked the way they have been for over a hundred years.

Named after Ed Schild’s grandson, Angus, and the Scottish word ‘Brae’ meaning a steep hillside, this vineyard is located 4 km north of the Lyndoch township. This relatively young vineyard is managed to suit the soil profile and terroir ensuring premium fruit is produced. The vineyard was purchased by the Schild family in December 2001 and now produces some of our highest quality shiraz grapes.

The Three Springs vineyard is where the original Schild family homestead is located. Situated on historic Narrow Road at Rowland Flat, this vineyard sits at 380 metres above sea level. Vineyards at this altitude are traditionally much lower yielding than vineyards planted on the Barossa Valley floor and produce fruit of the highest quality.

Purchased in 1993 this patch was originally known as the 'Chenin Blanc' vineyard, however in 1999 Michael Schild built a shiny new workshop just down the road and the vineyard became known as 'The Workshop' - the name stuck. The vines changed from Chenin Blanc to Riesling and are now premium Shiraz grapes which all go into the Schild Estate Barossa Valley Shiraz.

The Narrow Road Vineyard sits high on the hills behind the township of Rowland Flat. The vines grown adjacent to the original Schild homestead that was purchased and settled by Ben and Alma Schild in 1952 on what was historically known as ‘Narrow Road’
